Niurka Marcos is a Cuban-Mexican actress, singer and dancer. She is most popular for Solamente una vez (You Belong in My Heart – 2002), La fea más bella (The Most Beautiful Ugly Girl – 2006) and Nunca te olvidaré (Never Forget You – 1999).
For her role as Karicia on the soap opera Salomé, Niurka Marcos won a TVyNovelas Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 20th TVyNovelas Awards.

Born Niurka Melanie Marcos Calles on 25 November 1967, the actress was born in Havana, Cuba to Carmelo Marcos (father) and Salustiana “Celeste” Calles (mother) and was one of six children. others are Martha, Maribel, Thomas, María del Carmen and Ernesto. Her father was a major in the Cuban Navy, while her mother, who informed her of her death in an interview in 2018, was a homemaker.
Niurka Marcos was among the first foreigners to be naturalized by Mexico’s 55th President, Vicente Fox Quesada.
