Zooey Jeong is the daughter of The Hangover actor Ken Jeong and his wife Tran Jeong, who have been married for nearly thirty years. Zooey is, in reality, one of the couple’s identical twins. However, Zooey, who is in her mid-teens, has already established herself as a celebrity because she is the daughter of a well-known actor and comedian.
It’s because Zooey rarely appears in the media that many people don’t know much about her. Aside from posting pictures of his daughter on social media, he hasn’t said anything to her about who she is.
Zooey Jeong’s Family.
Ken Jeong and Tran Jeong welcomed their first child, Zooey, into the world on May 26, 2007. Alexa Jeong, her identical twin, shares her name. Even though she was born in the United States, Zooey has Asian ancestry through her mother’s side and her father’s.
A South Korean ancestry can be found in Zooey’s dad, Ken. In contrast to her maternal grandparents, D.K. Jeong and Young Jeong of South Korea, her father was born in the United States of America. He was a scholar who had earned a Ph.D. in economics from Wayne State University, where Jeong’s grandfather D.K. was an instructor. While at North Carolina A&T State, D.K. served as a professor of economics.
Meanwhile, her mother, Tran is of Vietnamese descent, however, details about her maternal grandparents are not well documented as of yet.
Zooey Jeong Education.
Zooey Jeong is presently in her sophomore year of high school and is 15 years old as of 2022. Her father said in a 2015 interview that Zooey was interested in acting and other things, according to the interview. As well as going to school, Zooey’s devoted father claimed that she was taking part in children’s theater and swimming lessons as well.
Who are Zooey Jeong parents?
Tran and Ken Zooey are both medical doctors. Her father is an internist and her mother is a family doctor. While Tran graduated from the David Geffen School of Medicine, Ken graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1995.
Zooey’s father, Ken, was a doctor for a long time before deciding to follow his ambition of becoming an actor and becoming Zooey’s father. Tran played a significant part in the development of Ken’s acting career.
When he was torn between pursuing his goal and staying in medicine, she pushed him to follow his instincts. Tran, on the other hand, was a constant source of inspiration and motivation for him, even as she battled breast cancer. While his wife was undergoing treatment, Ken agreed to play the role in The Hangover.
To his surprise, Ken admitted in the years following the film’s release that he used his part as the character he played in The Hangover to deal with his feelings of resentment and rage.
Zooey’s Parents Are Married for Nearly 20 years now.
When Tran and Ken Jeong married nearly two decades ago, they were the longest-married couple in the world. In 2002, while working at Kaiser Permanente, the two met and began dating.
Zooey’s parents married in a little ceremony after dating for a few years. The date of Tran and Ken’s wedding has been stated to be September 2004.
Zooey was Just One Year Old When Her Mother Suffered from Breast Cancer
In 2008, when Zooey and her sister, Alexa were just one year old, their mother, Tran was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. The news was devastating for the family as they have infant children who needed their mother by their side almost all the time.
Tran underwent sixteen chemotherapy sessions and a mastectomy followed by radiation. The journey was exhausting for the doctor herself, however, she was always hopeful that she would win the battle. Ken, 53, praised his wife’s spirit in a lengthy blog post on Huffington Post back in 2011. There he wrote,
“She fought back against cancer with everything she had for our girls so that they would grow up knowing a mother’s love, a mother’s instinct, a mother’s touch.”
Moreover, Ken wrote that he was too scared to think about what would happen if he lost his wife and how would he explain it to his daughters. Luckily, Tran won the battle and she officially became cancer-free in 2010, nearly two years after her diagnosis.
Zooey Might Follow in Her Mother’s Footsteps
Every parent wants their child to follow in their footsteps and achieve even more than they could, however, not all the kids want to do the same stuff as their parents. But, Zooey, here seems to love her mother’s profession. Although it might be a little soon, Zooey has shown her interest in the medical field.
In a conversation in the past, Ken revealed that his daughters wanted to be like their mommy. “I don’t mind what they do. It would be hypocritical for me to mind what they do. But they want to be like Mommy. I could not be any happier,” told the father.
Zooey Jeong Lives in Calabasas with Her Parents
Zooey is 15 years old as of 2022, and it might be a few years before she starts her career. As of now, she enjoys a lavish lifestyle as her parents earn well from their respective careers. Her father worked as a doctor for a long time before switching his career to acting. As of 2022, Ken Jeong has a net worth of $4 million.
Her mother Tran, on the other hand, has been practicing as a family physician for almost two decades. However, her actual net worth has not yet been determined.
For $3.95 million in 2016, Tran and Ken purchased their lavish Calabasas home. The happy family of four is currently living there. Tudor-style mansion built in 2006 offers more than 6,700 square feet of living space and a private screening room with a modern chef’s kitchen and two offices.
