Teddy Swims proves he’s 2021’s Artist to Watch
Teddy has been featured in the February 2021 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. He was named as the 2021’s Artist to Watch and his recent ballad 911 has definitely proved how he earned his spot.
This hit song which he shared with his millions of fans made them desperate for more. Talking to the magazine about making more music, Teddy explained how he just can’t stop writing music.
“We’re probably sitting on 150 songs or so now,” he explained. “We’ve been writing and writing. They all go from left field to right field, from hip-hop to ballad-town. It’s been hard to pick the ones that not only feel like they’re the most honest but to also feel like we picked the ones that are cohesive.” Swims said.
Who is Teddy Swims?
Teddy Swims aka Jaten Dimsdale is an American singer and songwriter from Atlanta, GA.
Teddy was a keen football player growing up and as a musical theatre student, he was exposed to a variety of music. He was in several bands growing up of all sorts of genres including 80’s glam metal, funk, modern metal-core, soul, and country alternative bands.
Teddy went on his first US tour doing hip-hop in March of 2019 with his close friend Addy Maxwell. His name Swims stands for ‘someone who isn’t me sometimes’. This is a reference to Teddy navigating the different parts of himself and finding who he is.
