Meek Mill has come under fire on Twitter after a clip from his upcoming song with Lil Baby was leaked online.
The track features a lyric which refers to Kobe Bryant, and many fans were unhappy, calling the verse “disrespectful” and “offensive.”
Kobe Bryant passed away in January 2020 in a helicopter accident with his daughter Gianna, and the first anniversary of his death came last month.

Meek Mill has come under fire after a leaked clip from his upcoming track with Lil Baby made its way online. In a verse, Meek Mill refers to Kobe Bryant, and the lyric has received a lot of backlash:

The clip has since been copyright-claimed.

Shannon Sharpe calls out Meek Mill on Twitter
Shannon Sharpe weighed in on the conversation, tweeting: “WTF Meek.”
Along with the tweet, Shannon posted a photograph which depicts rappers looking disappointed at something Meek Mill is saying.
The picture became a meme a while ago, but Shannon edited his own face onto someone else’s to show himself looking at Meek Mill with shock.
Meek Mill also posted two tweets during the backlash, saying: “Somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it…. y’all internet antics cannot stop me ….s**t like zombie land or something! Lol.”
Meek also said: “They paying to influence y’all now … it’s almost like mind control ‘wake up’.”
