Diego Maradona died on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60 after his career had been marred by addiction as his daughter Giannina raised alarm about 12 months ago.
The Argentine legend had battled a series of illnesses linked with addiction that he almost lost his life on several occasions.
Just about a year before his death, the legend’s daughter cried out saying former Argentina captain needs prayers as he was already dying inside.
She wrote:
“He is not dying because his body has decided so, he is getting killed from the inside and does not realise it.
“I do not believe in the parameters of normal but that is far from the reality of what he deserves. Pray for him. Please! Thank you!”
The 30-year-old Giannina who once dated Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and had a child for him also added that her dad was not treated like a human.
She wrote as cited in Daily Star:
“Do you remember there was a zoo that allowed you to take photographs with a giant lion?
“You could go inside the cage and just about ‘hug him’.
“The world awaits our words but there are no words to describe the pain we’re going through. Now is the time to grieve. Diego.
