Born as Gunilla Wiklund, the famous actress made her arrival to the world on May 15, 1944 in Gothenburg, Sweden. She emigrated to the United States from Sweden and eventually became an American citizen. She completed her elementary education at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Hutton has maintained a great enthusiasm for acting since childhood, having appeared in several stage works in high school.
After completing her high school, she began her acting career. She made her first on-screen appearance in the popular television series, Petticoat Junction where she played the role of Billie Jo Bradley. Hutton continued to be featured in the American legal drama series, Perry Mason in 1965, before becoming a regular cast member in Hee Haw , a television variety show featuring country music and humor with the fictional rural Kornfield Kounty as the backdrop. The series first aired on CBS from 1969 to 1971, then in syndication from 1971 to 1993, and later on TNN and RFD-TV Networks respectively.
