Brendon Urie biography
Brendon Boyd Urie is an American Studio recording artiste, lyricist and lately a philanthropist who is famous for his lead vocalist roles in his music group dubbed Panic! at the Disco.
Urie was born on 12th April 1987 in St. George, Utah, but his family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, when he was just two years old.
He is the fifth, youngest and the last issue from his parents, Grace and Boyd Urie.
He is of about one quarter Polynesian descent from Hawaii owing to his mother’s ancestral origin.
Urie schooled at Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, where he linked with Panic! bassist Brent Wilson during his guitar training classes. Wilson requested that Urie try out for a band he was in, since they were in search of guitarist for possible replacement.
When it became evident to the Band’s lead vocalist to effect change, Urie and Smith moved to make such changes to the band’s style. However, the change in the bands style did not go down well with
Ross and Walker
The later opted for exit instead of staying back and subsequently joined hands together to form a new band, the Young Veins, leaving Urie and Smith as the sole remaining members of Panic! at the Disco.
However, when other Label mates of Urie had left the band, he became the last man standing and projected the music brand to what it is today.
Since the adoption of Urie as the lead vocalist, Panic! at the Disco has dropped Six studio albums.
1 – A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out officially droped in the year 2005 with the hit single “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” promoting the album to about 1.8 million sales.
2 – Pretty. Odd. This body of work was released in 2008, Urie also took lyrical responsibility and wrote two of the tracks on the record by himself; those tracks being “
Inside the record breaking album by the group, Urie personally masterminded the lyrical lines that gave birth to the below two tracks off the album:
a – I Have Friends in Holy Spaces and Folkin’ Around.
b – Brendon equally wrote New Perspective for the soundtrack to the motion picture Jennifer’s Body.
3 – Vices & Virtues surfaced on March 22, 2011, this is the bands third studio album released just after the exit of Ross and Walker who went on to front their own band.
4 – Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! This fourth album was released on October 8, 2013. It made its first entrance on Billboard 200 at No. 2. Following the success of his previously released albums, Urie won “Best Vocalist” at the Alternative Press Music Awards in July 21, 2014,.
In 2015, founding drummer at Panic! at the Disco, Spencer Smith left the band and bassist Dallon Weekes equally took a bow from the main lineup, only being regarded and referred to as a touring member, thereby leaving Urie as the only member of the official lineup.
5 – Death of a Bachelor entered the public domain on 15th January, 2016. Panic! at the Disco announced their fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor, which in turn, earned the band its best sales week and first number one album ever produced.
In 2018 and in anticipation for a music tour, the band announced a yet to be released album titled Pray for the Wicked
Brendon, the solo act signed to Panic! at the Disco took to twitter to announce that his human rights organization, Highest Hopes Foundation, a non profit outfit launched to support people around the world was able to raise a total of $134,000 from contributions.
The non-profit organisation which helps care, speak for, and maintain equal rights to live for all people and communities who are subject to discrimination or abuse may because of the basis of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
The Twitch stream funds were raised by participants donating a dollar for every U.S. ticket sale on the band’s recent Pay For the slated Wicked tour.
Surprisingly, the Twitch stream was his first fundraiser of its kind. One can say it was spectacular since he creatively conducted it.
Some friends of Urie’s Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, Twenty One Pilots’ Josh Dunn and producer Dillon Francis did not forget to show up in order support by promoting the event to garner more participants
