She told followers that the mother (who is called Lavinia) “had no idea she was pregnant” and “wouldn’t have flown on the plane if she knew, but she had no idea.”
Julia also shared a link to a GoFundMe page for the family and said:
“I’ve been in contact with the family since that day and they do have a GoFundMe account set up… any donation would help them tremendously, they’d really, really appreciate it. Like I said, this has been a crazy few days for them, they were not expecting it, so any help helps a lot.”
Update on woman who gave birth mid flight
The GoFundMe page for the woman who gave birth on a flight has provided some follow- up information on the well being of both the mother and baby.
The page, which was started by Lavinia’s sister, reads:
“Thanks to a viral TikTok video, the world found out that our sister, Lavinia, had a baby onboard our Delta flight from Salt Lake to Hawaii. Our miracle baby nephew was born with 3 hours left on our flight and was such a strong trooper. Our sister did not know she was pregnant so she was just as shocked as the rest of us when our nephew was born!”
“Lavinia & baby will be staying in Hawaii longer while baby gets healthy enough to fly back home to Utah. Any donation is much appreciated to help our sister during her stay here. We love our little baby Raymond Kaimana Wade Kobe Lavaki Mounga and can’t wait til we are able to bring him back home to Utah.”
