The mention of his name often takes our minds back to the very sad episodes of his life. Tunji Ibrahim Balogun also known as Tee Billz would not have been so popular without the weird suicide attempt story that rocked the entertainment industry in 2017.

Who is Tee Billz? Bio, Age

Tunji Balogun was born on September 26 to his father Ibrahim Olatunji Balogun and his mother whose name is unknown. He is said to be of the same age with Tiwa Savage, though we cannot ascertain that. Billz grew up in the United States of America (USA) and had his education there.

Word has it that he grew up in a broken home as his father who is a past President of the Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN), and his mother got separated when he was still young.

Tee Billz grew up not wanting to follow the path of his father whom he said took many other women as wives and cared only about his money.

Music Career, Meeting Tiwa Savage

His music inclination started while he was in the US before he came to Nigeria to settle. While in the US, Tee Billz met Tiwa Savage in Los Angeles through a friend named Wale. He became friends with Tiwa who was at the time not famous or popular.

Together with Tiwa, Tee Billz, who was her manager, founded 323 Entertainment in 2010 and had a few artists signed. The record label has signed artists like CDQ, Trafic, and Iceberg Slim.

Marriage to Tiwa Savage

Starting out as platonic friends, Billz and Savage discovered a connection between them and decided to take it to the next level. It had grown from a manager/artist relationship to a mutual friendship, and then a romantic experience between the two who later became lovebirds.

They had their traditional marriage in November 2013 at the Ark in Lekki, Lagos. In April the following year, Tee Billz and Tiwa had an elaborate white wedding. The destination wedding which took place in Dubai was graced by tons of celebrities, friends, family, well-wishers and of course the press.

The wedding which seemed like a fairy tale was not one to be ignored or go unnoticed by the media. Tee Billz and Tiwa’s wedding made covers of various magazines, blogs and other social media platforms with pictures and videos all over the internet. The couple welcomed a baby boy named Jamil on July 2, 2015.

However, the following year 2016, was going to usher in a horrible episode in their marriage. The horror began when Teebillz uploaded vile posts and messages on Instagram, portraying his wife as unfaithful and irresponsible. The derogatory messages were followed by posts passing strong suicidal signals, drawing the attention of the media, friends and family alike.

Moments after the Instagram posts Teebillz was said to be found at the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge were he attempted to jump into the lagoon but was fortunately rescued by friends and co-stars, Banky W and Peter Okoye.

In reaction to Billz’s accusations, Tiwa Savage granted a 45 minutes interview in which she made shocking revelations about him. Tiwa, in the interview, depicted him as a drug addict, an irresponsible father, and a broke debtor. She also said her marriage with him was over.

After the Storm: Relationship WIth Tiwa Savage

As the worst came and went in 2016, the year 2017 came with a full dose of healing, sanity, and peace for the two. Though they have kept their personal life far away from the prying eyes of the media, sources have revealed that they are both in good terms and are working together towards giving their son all the support he needs. However, we cannot ascertain if they are still living together.

In an interview with Linda Ikeji TV, Tee Billz attributed his suicide attempt to the rough childhood and difficult beginning he had. He also had the horrible episode to thank for his new found self.

Family, Children

While it is widely known that Tee Billz is married to Tiwa Savage and have a son with her, not everyone knows about his other children or spouses. Sources revealed that he was married before and has other children from other women.

Tee Billz was first legally married to Kenea Udoh who gave him two children. He also has another child with a woman named  Vivian Oputa. It cannot be ascertained if his current wife – Tiwa was aware of his other children before their marriage – a possible reason for the dreadful episode.
