For years, Gary Plauche, the father who fatally shot the kidnapper and assaulter of his eleven-year-old son, has been at the center of an ethical discussion throughout the world.
According to Jody Plauche, his 11-year-old son, he wanted Jeff to stop, not necessarily die.
So far, here’s all the information we have on the matter…
The man GARY PLAUCHE:
Gary Plauche murdered the man who kidnapped and sexually molested his eleven-year-old son in 1984 on live television.
Gary Plauche’s son Jody was abducted in February 1984 by Jeff Doucet. When the authorities found Jody, they stormed the motel and got Doucet.
It was a Friday the 16th of March 1984 when Doucet was flown back to Louisiana from his exile in California.
During a scuffle at the airport, Gary Plauche fired one shot as Doucet passed. It slammed with the right side of his head cleanly. Before the cops could arrest him, Gary Plauche put the gnu down. “Why, Gary, why?” exclaimed one of the officers.
Garry Plauche was sentenced to seven years in prison with all but one year suspended, followed by five years of probation and 300 hours of community service, the latter of which he completed at his church. They didn’t serve jail time because the judge found him not to be a danger to the community.
After suffering complications from a stroke brought on by his diabetes, Gary Plauche passed away on October 21st, 2014, at the age of 68.
Years later, PLAUCHE’s son REVEALS HIS TRUE COLOR
The book was published in 2019 five years after Jody’s father’s death, and is titled “Why, Gary, Why? It’s the story of Jody Plauche.”
With his own extraordinary narrative of using his history to help others, Jody discusses how anyone who has experienced severe pain may go on and not let the past define him or her, as stated in the description of his book.
He recently talked to The Sun about his feelings at the time of his father’s activities. He elaborated as follows:
“I can see why he acted the way he did. Parents should prioritize being there for their children rather than putting themselves in jeopardy.
