Genshin Impact was released in 2020 and after two years, the video game has continued its successful reign with its dedicated fan base.
Although Chinese company miHoYo is behind the development, the game has proved to be a hit in the Japanese and United States markets also. Its US release was reportedly the largest launch of a role-playing game on mobile in history and Western players contributed to 20 per cent of Genshin Impacts’ total revenue.
The company has its English voice actors to thank, whose talents have secured the characters as fan-favorite cosplays at every anime and gaming convention. One name is Elliot Gindi, who serves as the voice of Tighnari – read on to know more about the former Pokemon actor.
Who is Elliot Gindi? Meet the voice actor behind Genshin Impact’s Tighnari
Gindi was introduced to the Genshin Impact family on August 23, 2022 when Tighnari’s character demo was released.
He is a freelance voice actor and narrator based in Brooklyn, New York, though he is also active in Los Angeles. According to Gindi’s LinkedIn, he joined the industry in June 2009 and counts Moof Games, KodaLabs, and MediaLuv as clients.
Gindi attended Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn for two years from 2011 to 2013.
After over a decade of experience, his biggest roles came in the last three years. In 2020, he was credited as the voice of Abimaras in the podcast series, Undercity, and Misroch in Brimstone Valley Mall.

Tighnari’s Japanese voice actor is a veteran
While Genshin Impact is Gindi’s biggest gig to date, the Chinese game is one of the countless impressive credits for Tighnari’s Japanese voice, Sanae Kobayashi.
The 43-year-old actress has over 20-years of experience and is best known as the talent behind D Gray-Man’s Allen Walker, Asuka Tenjouin in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and Popo and Nana in Super Smash Bros.
Kobayashi has also dubbed several Hollywood films, including Anne Hathaway’s character in The Devil Wears Prada, and Ana De Armas in The Gray Man and Knives Out.
