Nia Long is an American actress.
Nia Talita Long was born on October 30, 1970, in Brooklyn, New York, United States. Her parents are Doughtry Long and Talita Long Gillman. Her mother is a teacher and printmaker, while her father Doughtry is a high school teacher and poet.
Nia Long has an older half-sister named Sommore who is an actress and comedian. Their parents divorced when Long was two years old. She attended Paseo Del Rey Elementary School in Playa Del Rey and St. Mary’s Academy in Inglewood, California. She graduated from Westchester High School in Los Angeles in 1989.
