Jake Paul is seemingly looking to cause a rift between Molly-Mae Hague and her boxer boyfriend Tommy Fury, as tensions between Paul and Fury continue to rise.
On May 20th, 2021, YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul escalated the tensions with his would-be opponent Tommy Fury. He shared what looked to be an Instagram DM from Molly-Mae, where she asks Jake Paul to “show [her] around” America.
Molly-Mae has since come out to state that the DM was faked. This is widely thought to be the case, as the white heart emoji used in the message was not released when Jake Paul alleges Molly-Mae sent the DM.
When did the white heart emoji come out?
- 2019
The white heart emoji was reportedly approved as part of Unicode 12.0 in 2019 and added to Emoji 12.0 in 2019.
The DM Jake Paul alleges to have received from Molly-Mae Hague was sent on October 15th, 2018. The fact that the emoji had not been released at the time the DM was sent is a central part of Molly-Mae’s defence against Paul.
Jake Paul reveals Molly-Mae DM on Instagram
On May 20th, 2021, Jake Paul shared a series of Instagram Stories calling out Tommy Fury and the rest of the Fury family.
The world has been egging on the two young fighters to finally set a date. Up until now, it has just been a back-and-forth of name-calling and shade-throwing between Paul and Fury.
But Jake Paul decided to take things further on May 20th, when he alleged that Tommy Fury’s longterm girlfriend, Molly-Mae Hague, had slid into his DMs. Jake Paul added the VoiceOver: “And one last thing Tommy, you should be more worried about your girl sliding into a bunch of dude’s DMs than you should be about fighting me.”
Molly-Mae calls the Jake Paul DM “fake”
It didn’t take too long for Molly-Mae Hague to fire back at Jake Paul. She tweeted: “Times must be hard when you’re having to fake a DM….”
Molly-Mae then added: “Photoshop is scary.”
Regardless of whether Molly-Mae Hague sent Jake Paul a DM in 2018 – she claims she did not – at that point, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury were not in a relationship. In fact, the pair had never met.
They met in the summer of 2019, while filming ITV’s hit dating series Love Island. Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague have been together for almost two years now, and have no plans on splitting up any time soon, despite Jake Paul’s attempts.
