Dolly Parton has gone viral on TikTok after she filmed herself getting the Moderna vaccine. Watch her hilarious Covid version of Jolene here!
In late 2020, famous country singer Dolly Parton invested $1 million into coronavirus vaccine research, helping to support the development of the Moderna vaccine.
Now, she’s just filmed herself receiving her partially self-funded jab which she jokingly described as getting a “dose of her own medicine”.
The video is going viral on TikTok because whilst getting her jab, she did a hilarious Covid rendition of her famous song Jolene, and everyone is obsessed with it.
Dolly Parton sings ‘Jolene’ as she recieves Covid vaccine
On Tuesday (March 2nd), Dolly Parton went to the Vanderbilt Health Centre in Tennessee to get her Covid vaccine.
The following day, she uploaded a video of herself getting the jab to her Instagram profile, and it’s instantly gone viral on social media.
“Well hey, it’s me. I’m finally gonna get my vaccine and I’m so excited. I’ve been waiting a while. I’m old enough to get it and I’m smart enough to get it. So, I’m very happy that I’m gonna get my Moderna shot today,” she said.
Then, she went on to encourage everyone to get their Covid vaccine too before revealing that she had changed one of her songs to fit the occasion.
She then started singing her most famous track Jolene, Covid edition! Instead of saying ‘Jolene’, she repeatedly said the word ‘vaccine’ and it’s surprisingly catchy.
“Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. I’m begging of you please don’t hesitate,” she sang as she urged her four million Instagram followers to get their vaccine too.
“I know I’m trying to be funny now but I’m dead serious about getting the vaccine,” she continued before receiving her shot on camera.
