Souja Boy Early Life
DeAndre Cortez Way, better known as Soulja Boy, was born on this day in 1990 in Chicago, Illinois. Atlanta, Georgia, was the place where he developed an interest in rap music at the age of six, when his family relocated to the city. He relocated to Batesville, Mississippi, when he was fourteen years old. For his son’s sake, his father built a recording studio in their home. It was in November 2005 that Soulja Boy began posting his music on the SoundClick website. As a result of the positive feedback, he created profiles on YouTube and MySpace.
He recorded this song in March of 2007 “Unsigned and Still Major: Da Album Before da Album,” Soulja Boy’s debut solo effort, was produced by Crank That (Soulja Boy). In addition to the “Crank That” dance video, he made a low-budget video to promote it. Until the end of May 2007 “Soulja Boy signed a record deal with Interscope Records after he had been played on the radio. For seven weeks in September 2007, “Crank That” held the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Soulja was nominated for a Grammy for the song.
‘Souljaboytellem.com’, his first major-label album, was released in October 2007 and has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. His second album, “SouljaBoyTellem,” was released 14 months after “SouljaBoyTellem.”
A year later, he released “The DeAndre Way,” his third studio album. “Loyalty,” his fourth studio album, came out in 2015. Gucci Mane, Sammie, Shawty Lo, and Arab are just some of the hip-hop artists Soulja Boy has worked with. The release of “How Can You Blame Me?” in 2019 marked his fifth studio album.
Souja Boy Controversies
rapper Bow Wow a race in their high-end sports cars back in early February 2009, and Soulja Boy accepted his challenge. At the time, both rappers were driving Lamborghinis. Soulja Boy’s claim that Bow Wow’s car was rented only added fuel to the fire. When Bow Wow demonstrated that he owned his car, a Twitter feud erupted. Both rappers sent each other diss tracks in a matter of days. ‘F*ck Bow Wow’ was the message sent by Soulja Boy to Bow Wow. ‘What I Think About You,’ Bow Wow sent to Soulja Boy. Once their differences were resolved, the two rappers teamed up to release “Ignorant Shit,” a collaborative mixtape, in 2016.
Chief Keef was threatened with death by Soulja Boy on Facebook in mid-April 2013. If you see Soulja Boy, call him and tell him he’s coming for you armed with a gun, he posted Keef’s phone number on social media. Keef eventually revealed that Soulja Boy was in London after Soulja Boy’s posts persisted. His social media accounts and email were said to have been hacked, which Soulja Boy claimed to be the case. Since then, the two have worked out their differences.
Legal Issues
Way was arrested on one count of obstruction, a misdemeanor, on October 7, 2009, in Atlanta, Georgia, for fleeing police after they ordered him to stop filming a video in an abandoned house. After posting a $550 bond, the rapper was allowed to leave jail.
Personal Life
DJ Cisco’s Urban Legend mixtape featured Ice-T, who scolded Way for “killing hip-hop” and his song “Crank That” for being “garbage” when compared to the work of other hip-hop artists like Rakim, Das EFX, Big Daddy Kane, and Ice Cube. As a result of this, they began exchanging videos via the Internet. To defend Way, Kanye West pointed to his own work as an example of new and original hip-hop. In a 2010 episode of The Boondocks, the feud was parodied.
Way was robbed and beaten in his own home on December 30th, 2008. The first reports from the scene stated that six masked men armed with AK-47s were responsible for the robbery. On the other hand, a video of two masked men claiming responsibility for the crime surfaced online on the following day. Soulja Boy recounted the event to MTV News in January 2009. He said the robbers entered his home with their guns pointed at them after he returned home late from an album release party and was recording songs with friends. Robbers broke in through the door and pointed an AK-47 at his friend’s head, he said in his account of the incident.
Deion Jenkins, Way’s younger brother, was killed in a car accident on March 22, 2011.
So that he could begin acting in movies and television, Soulja Boy had all of his face tattoos removed in 2020. When he was 16, he got his first face tattoo, much to his mother’s chagrin. Since 2016, he’s been discussing getting them removed. When it comes to acting, he’d rather not be associated with gangsters or drug dealers, but he fears that’s exactly what he’d end up being.
Soulja Boy’s Latest Console Can Do Something The Nintendo Switch Can’t
In his career, Soulja Boy has sold a lot of records, but he appears to be fixated on breaking into a new market: video games. This isn’t the first time the company has attempted to sell rebranded Chinese consoles that run unlicensed ROMs. Soulja Boy was forced to remove the listings from the internet after Nintendo appeared to take legal action against him, admitting that he “…had to boss up, I had no choice.”
A good rapper, on the other hand, appears to defy containment. Soulja Boy was at it again earlier this year, teasing yet another gaming console that resembled an Xbox Series S. Soulja Boy expressed his excitement for the upcoming project by saying “Creating a brand-new console from the ground up with a completely original design. All of the games are brand new. Everything’s new. Let us go down in history.” However, it appears that he’s already moved on to his next project, which is a handheld device. And what’s this? When it comes to his endorsement of an old-school handheld console, this is all he’s done.
Retro Dodo claims that Soulja Boy’s TRDR Pocket is actually a clone of the Retroid Pocket, which in turn was cloned into the Powkiddy A19 by another company. Soulja Boy has promoted a number of emulation-based systems, but this one runs Android, which means you can run Android apps like Netflix on it, unlike the Nintendo Switch, which does not. It’s being marketed as a portable device that lets you use social media apps in addition to playing games. In the video above, you can see the smartphone version of Call of Duty.
What’s the deal? Normally, a product like this (or one very similar to it) costs less than $100, but the TRDR Pocket costs twice as much. We reached out to Go Games, a company in Spain, and they admitted that they hadn’t previously been aware of Soulja Boy’s patchy history with gaming hardware. Retro Dodo Even as recently as a day ago, the rapper was still actively promoting the device on his social media pages.
Soulja Boy, who is already hinting at a successor, appears unfazed by the negative reaction this device has received from the gaming community. A large number of hats are at stake in the event this does not turn out to be an inferior copy of the PS Vita, which is already on the market under a different name and for less money.
