Nigeria is a great country with different state and different remarks. Today we would be focusing our attention on the top 3 poorest state in Nigeria.
1. Sokoto state
The number one poorest state in Nigeria is Sokoto. According to report, Sokoto has consistently been rated as the poorest state in this great country “Nigeria”. Sokoto is located in northwest of Nigeria, near to the confluence of the Sokoto River and the Rima River. One of the major challenges faced by this state is the harsh climate conditions present in Sokoto, and this have led to poor investment from foreigners in the state thereby preventing development in the state.
2)Katsina State
The second poorest state is “Katsina”. The major cause of the poor status of the state is basically due to it’s small or no sectors generating revenue for the state. The state is located at the North-West area of Nigeria.
3)Adamawa State
The third poorest state in Nigeria is “Adamawa state”. The major reason for the poverty of the state is basically as a result of the unstableness of the country’s economy due to continuous attacks from Boko Haram terrorists which has led to many people running for dear life to a safer location.
