Early Life
Sean P. Diddy Combs was born to the family of Melvin Earl Combs and Janice Combs. He was born on the 4th Of November 1969 in Harlem Neighbourhood, New York City. He has a sister named Keisha Combs.
The Combs named their son, Sean John Combs. His father worked as a military officer and served in the US Air Force. His mother, Janice was a teachers assistant and model. He spent his formative years residing in Mount Vernon, New York City.
When Sean P. Diddy Combs was barely two years old, his father was shot dead while he was sitting inside his vehicle. Melvin Earl Combs had been 33 years old at the time. He was given the nickname Puff because as a child, he often huff and puff whenever he was angry.

Sean P. Diddy Combs started his music career with an internship in the New York office of Uptown Records in 1990. Thereafter, he secured a full-time role with the organization and became a Talent Director. While working as the Talent Director, he was responsible for growing the careers of Mary J. Blige and Jodeci. He was fired from Uptown Records in 1993.
Instead of joining another record label, he decided to found his music label and named it Bad Boy Entertainment. The label was a joint partnership with Aristo Records and soon signed his first artist, The Notorious B.I.G. As the label grew, he signed more music acts such as Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, Total, 112, and Father MC. He also had a top-notch in-house production team called The Hitmen.
In June 1997, Sean P. Diddy Combs released his debut single, Cant Nobody Hold Me Down, under the moniker, Puff Daddy. The song reached the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100 and spent 28 weeks on the chart. He made a statement as a rapper with the release of his debut album, No Way Out in 1997. This project which sold 561,000 copies in its first week, has been certified platinum seven times by the RIAA. The album won the Grammy Award For Best Rap Album in 1998, and also received four other nominations.
His sophomore album Forever was released on the 24th of August 1999. The album peaked at the number two spot on Billboard 200 and number one on Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart. Dirty Money released their debut album, Last Train To Paris in 2010.
