Nicole Kidman And Tom Cruise
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were married from 1990 to 2001. Tom and Nicole met on the set of their film Days of Thunder (1990). They started dating and got married on December 24, 1990. They adopted two children: Isabella Jane who was born in 1992 (28 years old) and Connor Antony who was born in 1995 (25 years old). In February 2001, Tom filed for divorce from Kidman.
According to sources, Nicole did not see her split with Cruise coming since Tom’s filling for divorce was abrupt. Tom Cruise requested joint custody of the couple’s adopted children. Although Tom cited irreconcilable differences as his reason for filing for divorce, some feel that it was his beliefs in Scientology that caused a rift between him and his second wife.
According to Nicole however, the split was caused by a lot of little things including, fame, age, and responsibilities.
She told People,
“I was so young when I got married. I had two kids by the time I was 27, and I’d been married for four years. But that’s what I wanted. I was so young. There is something about that sort of existence that, if you really focus on each other and you’re in that bubble, it’s very intoxicating, because it’s just the two of you. And there is only one other person that’s going through it. It brings you very close, and it’s deeply romantic.”
