It takes a lot of guts to be the husband of a former prisoner who has become an activist for the cause of missing persons. When it comes to men who say “I do,” Matthew Gilmour is one of the few who do so even if their spouses or the societal reaction to their decisions are against them. After exchanging vows with American activist and missing persons advocate Elizabeth Smart, Gilmour became famous. Smart’s kidnapping and subsequent rescue from her Salt Lake City home garnered worldwide attention. At the time, she was just fourteen years old. At the Paris branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they both served as missionaries and got to know each other over time. Listed here are all the facts you need to know about Elizabeth Smart’s husband.
