Lucien Laviscount might have a shot at portraying Bond after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, and it would be a big career step that would bring variety to the legendary role.
On Netflix’s “Emily in Paris,” the British actor, 30, established his reputation. Barbara Broccoli, the film producer who owns the rights to the James Bond franchise, is rumoured to have taken notice of him because of his frequent appearances as the protagonist’s love interest, Alfie.
Daniel Craig, who has played the renowned spy in the last five movies, is being replaced by a new agent, according to Broccoli.
Lucien Laviscount’s previous roles
The actor has appeared in many famous British shows, including Coronation Street, Skins, and Waterloo Road.
However, according to an unnamed source speaking to the Daily Mail, his brief stint in season 8 of Celebrity Big Brother may have hurt his chances of playing Bond.
According to the source, whilst producers are interested in Laviscount, his appearance on the reality show isn’t particularly Bond-fitting.
Laviscount became a housemate on Channel 5’s Big Brother in 2011. He placed well in the show placing fifth out of 10 housemates.
He appeared alongside Jedward and Kerry Katona, Reality TV Star Paddy Doherty snubbed the crown that year.
Laviscount escaped the house with minimal scandals, apart from kissing fellow star Kerry Katona.
He appeared in the show more than a decade ago. Since then his public persona has reached new heights and he has been considered for more serious acting roles.
Laviscount has slowly worked his way up appearing on more successful, TV shows such as Scream Queens in 2015 and of course, Emily in Paris since 2021.
The source added that the show, which was famous at the time, proves his fan base “stretches generations”.
Placing fifth on Big Brother shows Laviscount has been likable for years which. The source continued: “That is a dream for Barbara who is very taken with him.”
If Laviscount secured his place as Bond, this would make him the very first actor to have previously appeared on Big Brother.
