Radio host Rush Limbaugh, who was known for his out-spoken and controversial views, passed away on Tuesday, February 17th, after a battle with lung cancer.
He announced his diagnosis in early 2020 and took time off work to go through treatment. However it was soon revealed that his condition was terminal.
Kathryn Adams Limbaugh shared the news of his passing on his show yesterday, Wednesday 18th. Reportedly, he leaves behind most of his $50million estate to his wife.
Who is Kathryn Adams Limbaugh?
44-year-old Kathryn Adams Limbaugh is from Massachusetts and is an events planner. In fact, that’s how she met Rush. In 2004, she hosted a charity golf tournament in Palm Beach, which he attended. The couple began dating three years later in 2007, after he split from CNN anchor Daryn Kagan.
As well as being an events planner, she also worked as a children’s author in recent years. Along with Rush, they created the Adventures of Rush Revera, a New York Times bestseller which teaches the story of the founding of the US.
Kathryn is also reportedly a direct descendant of former President and founding father John Adams.
Throughout their marriage, the couple had no children and Kathryn had none previously either.
Her wedding to Rush Limbaugh
The couple married in 2010 and had over 400 guests at their Palm Beach wedding, according to People. Political figures like Rudy Giuliani, Karl Rove and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas were in attendance.
Most notably however, Elton John performed at the wedding, for a whopping fee of $1million.
They reportedly honeymooned in Africa and Mexico, following from the wedding.
