Javin DeLaurier High school career
In Charlottesville, Virginia, DeLaurier attended St. Anne’s-Belfield School. He led his team to the quarterfinals of the 2015 state tournament with averages of 21.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 4.2 blocks per game as a junior. The All-Central Virginia Player of the Year award was bestowed upon him as a senior because of his stellar performance, which included 21.9 points per game and 12.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.3 blocks.
College career
From 2016 to 2020, DeLaurier served as a member of the Duke Blue Devils. In 2017 and 2019, he won the ACC Tournament both times.
During his time as a rookie, DeLaurier played in 12 games, recording an overall average of 1.6 points and 1.6 boards per contest.
Sophomore DeLaurier put up career-highs in both scoring and rebounding in his sophomore campaign.

DeLaurier signed a training camp contract with the Charlotte Hornets after being overlooked in the NBA draft in 2020. On December 19, 2020, he was released from his contract.
The Charlotte Hornets assigned DeLaurier to the Greensboro Swarm on January 27, 2021, so he could take part in the 2021 G League Bubble with them. He appeared in seven games, appearing in 11.1 minutes per game and averaging 2.9 points and 3.3 rebounds.
