Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton, formerly known as Mike Stanton, is an American professional baseball designated hitter and outfielder currently plying his trade with the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).
He is originally from the Greater Los Angeles region and he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, before being selected by the Marlins in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft.
Stanton made his MLB debut in 2010 as a member of the then-Florida Marlins, with whom he played until the end of the 2017 season.
Stanton was born on November 8, 1989 to parents Jacinta Garay and Mike Stanton.
