His major controversy was his unrepentant criticism of US President, Donald Trump. CNN anchor on Tuesday night addressed a segment from the weekend which unveiled “faults” from President Trump in which the host laughed immediately after a guest mocked the president’s supporters.
However, he went ahead to clear his listeners and viewers about his position regarding his reaction towards the guest’s comment. Below is what he has to say:
“Ask anyone who knows me,” Lemon said at the end of his show Tuesday while addressing the segment. “They’ll tell you: I don’t believe in belittling people … for who they are, for what they believe or where they’re from.”
“I was laughing at the joke and not at any group of people,” he chipped in.
…and this is as was posted on twitter regarding the purported mockery of the office of the President, United States.
“I was laughing at the joke and not at any group of people.”@DonLemon tries to distance himself from the mocking of @realDonaldTrump supporters Saturday night while he was hosting @TheRickWilson and @WajahatAli.
Lemon claims he “didn’t catch everything that was said.”
To make his intentions known, during another segment with GOP strategist Rick Wilson and New York Times columnist and CNN contributor Wajahat Ali (all Trump critics), Lemon yet again laughed after Wilson said, “Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on a map if you had the letter ‘U’ and a picture of an actual physical crane next to it.”
It was after the last one that Trump took to Twitter to declare CNN’s Lemon as the dumbest man on Tv.
