On May 12th 2021, Gal Gadot shared a Twitter post sharing her views on the Israel- Palestine conflict, stating that she prays “for this unimaginable hostility to end.”
Before becoming an actress, Gal Gadot served two years in the IDF (Israel Defence Forces.)
Gal told Forward in 2011 that she thought her military background helped her get cast in her first film, Fast & Furious. Speaking about director Justin Lin, Gal stated:
“I think the main reason was that Justin really liked that I was in the Israeli military, and he wanted to use my knowledge of weapons.”

According to Heavy, Gal Gadot was given the role of combat trainer during her time in the army, and told Maxim in 2007: “[T]he soldiers loved me because I made them fit.”

On May 12th 2021, Gal Gadot shared a post on her Twitter page, and turned off comments. She shared her view on the Israel- Palestine conflict along with a broken heart emoji. The post read:
“My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation, our neighbours deserve the same.”
“I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”
