Carrie Frances Fisher (October 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016) was born in Burbank, California to famous parents. Her father Eddie Fisher and mother Debbie Reynolds were both famous for acting and singing. In 1959, at the young age of two, her parents filed for divorce. Her father later married actress Connie Stevens. This marriage happened to be his third and produced her half sisters whose names are Tricia Leigh Fisher and Joely Fisher.
Her mother, on the other hand, remarriedHarry Karl, a big businessman and owner of a large number of shoe chains. This marriage did not last as Carrie’s mother and stepfather, Karl, divorced in 1973 when they were 17.
As a child, she enjoyed reading books and was fascinated by literature. She attended Beverly Hills High School until she was 15, where in 1973 she got the chance to debut in the hit Broadway show Irene with her mother Debbie. Due to the time on Broadway , it affected her school, that’s why she decided to drop out of high school.

In 1975, Carrie Fisher appeared in her very first film, landing the role of a seductive character named Lorna Karpf in the comedy film Shampoo when she was just 18 years old. At 19, she was cast in one of her best-known roles in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope that would span decades of a successful career. She played the role of “Princess Leia” in the film. She also received several nominations for her acting skills, including three Saturn Awards nominations.

Carrie Fisher recently revealed that she has always struggled with the weight and admits her love for the Coca-Cola soda brand may stem from the constant weight gain. However, she was ordered to lose weight so that she could fit into her role in the 1977 Star Wars film (later retitled Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which was the first of the franchise), even though she was 19 at the time was years old. In her repression role for the 2015 Star Wars comeback, Carrie was told at age 60 to lose weight for the role she was playing as well.
Soon after the film’s completion, she had a heart attack on a commercial flight from London en route to Los Angeles. A passenger who was sitting with her noticed that she was not breathing and quickly performed CPR on her. After the plane landed, she was taken to the UCLA Medical Center’s intensive care unit. Unfortunately, Carrie lost the fight four days later. She passed away on December 27, 2016.
Although experts posited the possibility of her, an autopsy revealed that she had cocaine, heroin and other opiates in her system. She was 60 years old at the time of her death.
