Kenedi Anderson has left the ABC show after being dubbed the “greatest star” American Idol judge Luke Bryan has “ever seen.”
“You may have observed that there was no voting information during Kenedi’s rendition just now,” host Ryan Seacrest stated after the 17-year-old performed Christina Perri’s “Human” on Monday’s broadcast of the show. “Kenedi has opted to resign from our show for personal reasons since we taped these shows in Hawaii earlier.” “We convey our best wishes to her.”
Anderson then resorted to Instagram to express her dissatisfaction with her leaving.
“I’m unable to continue on American Idol due to personal concerns.” “This has been one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make, but I know it’s the right thing to do,” she said in a statement. “I owe a huge debt of gratitude to American Idol, the judges, the producers, the incredible contestants, and all of the fans who have backed me up.”
“Thank you for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to share my voice, chase my dreams, feel so much joy and happiness doing what I love, and create lifetime friends along the way,” the singer expressed her gratitude.
In a statement, the American Idol producer Fremantle Media said the show was “disheartened to see Kenedi quit.” The announcement came after she was awarded one of three platinum tickets for the 20th season of American Idol, which entitled her to skip a round of Hollywood auditions.
“However, we are looking forward to watching this special 20th season develop with all of the wonderful talent striving to be the next American Idol,” the statement read on Monday.
Anderson wowed Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie during her audition on the March 6 broadcast of American Idol.
On the program, the “Dark House” singer observed, “They’re younger, skinnier, prettier, and they sing well.” “Siri, call the plastic surgeon and make an appointment.” I’m not sure how you haven’t already been recruited. Every box is checked. Prepare to be a hero of your own.”
“You don’t understand,” Richie explained, explaining that the adolescent “answered” the judges’ “prayers.” We could sit here and sing songs all day, but we’re looking for the next big thing in music. Because of your voice, sight, and sound, you have blessed us.”
