As per the police reports, Kirkland reportedly pushed the man off her pontoon boat that inhabited more than a dozen other people. His friend, Eynn Wilson jumped right after Edward as he knew that Edward couldn’t swim.
Following the incident, both of them drowned that caused their deaths. The incident occurred in April of last year and after more than a year, their family finally got justice.
However, the convict has repeatedly said that she didn’t want to hurt either of the victims. She apologized to the victims’ families as well. The 32-year-old will do a year of jail time and 9 years of probation.

Shontover Kirkland caused the death of two men in Clarks Hill Lake in Georgia last year.
According to the reports, she rented two pontoon boats on the day and dozens of people were celebrating a birthday there. And she reportedly pushed a man into the lake but she didn’t know that he couldn’t swim.
Hence, the warrant said that she “did unlawfully endanger the bodily safety of Edward Lee Kirk, Jr. by consciously disregarding a substantial and unjustifiable risk that her act of shoving him off a boat into deep, cold water on Clarks Hill Lake without knowing whether or not he could swim would endanger the safety of said person.”
She pled guilty to two involuntary manslaughters.
