Woman shows off the shack she built, inspires people on social media

A beautiful SA woman, Thando Patience Njomane, took to the #ImStaying Facebook page on Wednesday, July 22, to share photos of her home.

Njomane explained that growing up she lived with family and never even had her own room.

She wrote: “I never had my own bedroom like everyone else. Whenever the holidays came I will sit down and cry that everyone is happy because they are going home while I don’t have any, I was born in that situation and I got kids in that situation.”

However, she decided to sit back and take a look at her life and realised that only she can change the situation. Njomane then used the little money she earned to buy a site and build a home for herself.

She said: “I’m glad God heard my prayers I was able to buy a site with the little I earn and now I can proudly say I’m going home, something I’ve never said before.” Njomane added that one day, she will build herself a mansion on the piece of land she now owns.

Her humble story inspired South Africans who encouraged Njomane to continue dreaming and working towards her goals. Rose Baloyi commented: “Congratulations, always thank God that you have a place to call home, a roof over your head. Surely what you desire will come true a bit by bit. Don’t lose focus. Stay blessed and remember everything is possible with God. Big up to you.”

Sharon Lourenco Sweet said: “Wow! So so proud of you, you brought goosebumps and tears as I read this. You ought to be extremely proud of yourself for what you have achieved, so many could learn from you – you are amazing! And lastly – your English is great, keep shining and thank you for sharing with us.” Beth Guthrie wrote:
