Vanessa Bryant is calling out Abigail Disney and Evan Rachel Wood for their tweet following Kobe Bryant’s death. Here’s a look at who is Abigail Disney and what did she say.
Kobe passed away on 26 January 2020 in a helicopter crash. The nation mourned the death of the star. Amid this, there were a few who tried to look back at some of the controversies that the sports star had been involved in. Rachel and Abigail were two of them and Vanessa decided to call them out for the same.
Who is Abigail Disney?
Abigail is an activist and Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker. She is also the granddaughter of the co-founder of Disney, Ray O. Disney. Abigail has always believed in giving back to the community and has donated a large sum from her net worth.
“I’ve given away in the range of $70 million in the last 30 years. I’m proud of that. I’m in a position to continue giving a lot of money away until the day I die,” she said.
Abigail often does TED Talks and uses her social media platform to put forward her thoughts on political issues.
What did Abigail Disney say about Kobe?
Abigail took to Twitter to tweet in response to Kobe’s death. She tweeted at that time, “I haven’t said anything about Kobe so far because I felt some time needed to pass before weighing in. But yes. it’s time for the sledgehammer to come out. The man was a rapist. Deal with it.”
Following this, Vanessa responded, “Your false, insensitive, defamatory and slanderous tweet on 1/29/20 is vile and disturbing to say at least. Behavior like this is part of the reason why innocent black men go to jail for crimes they didn’t commit. An accusation doesn’t make someone guilty. You don’t know the facts of the case.”
