The Hidden Truth: Disclosing the Two Key Factors Escalating the Political Crisis Between Wike and Governor Fubara of Rivers.
Nyesom Wike, previous governor of Rivers State and current Federal Capital Territory minister, has reportedly clashed with his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara within the same state.

Bada Yusuf, an experienced politics and current affairs editor, carries an extensive seven-year background in journalism and writing.
As per a report by The Guardian, the discord between Governor Fubara and the rumored political godfather, Wike, originates from two recent actions taken by the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governor in Rivers State.
The impeachment process of Governor Fubara has begun in the Rivers State House of Assembly. This development came less than a day after an alleged attack by unidentified individuals resulted in damage to parts of the assembly complex.
Understanding the Political Upheaval within Rivers State
Before the impeachment proceedings began, Ehie Edison, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, was suspended by his peers.
Reports suggest that Wike, now a minister under the administration of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled Federal Government, is influencing the actions of the House of Assembly.
Out of the 32 members in the State House of Assembly, 24 signed the impeachment process against Governor Fubara.
Here are the two main factors that led to the attempted removal of Governor Fubara:
Appointment of new commissioners without Wike’s authority
ara recently assigned portfolios to 14 commissioners in the Rivers state cabinet. However, following substantial criticism from the opposition, he proceeded to inaugurate five additional commissioners. These individuals had been vetted and approved by the State House of Assembly.
It was the admission of these additional commissioners into the cabinet that brought the ongoing disagreement between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, into the public eye.
Reviving Amaechi’s legacy
overnor Fubara reportedly took steps to rejuvenate Shonghai Farm and other initiatives designed to advantage state residents.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that Shonghai Farm was originally pioneered by previous governor Rotimi Amaechi. Amaechi occupied the role of Transportation Minister during the preceding presidency of Muhammadu Buhari.
In the political sphere of the state, Amaechi and Wike are notably at odds. Given this, Governor Fubara’s move to resurrect an Amaechi initiative has raised eyebrows and stirred suspicions regarding potential political alliances.
