"The Nigerian army has called allegations that it fired into the crowd, fake news" - CNN Africa

Weeks after the Endsars protesters were shot at during their protests at Lekki toll gate, Lagos, no individual or organization has come out to take responsibility of that act.

Despite that investigations on that incidence going on, no party seems to take the blame.

A tweet by CNN Africa today, alleged that the Nigerian army has denied the allegations that it shot at protesters at Lekki toll gate, and has dismissed it as “fake news” .

While this is very disturbing, one continues to wonder who else may have shot at peaceful protesters in a democratic country as Nigeria.

All we can do at it stands is to wait as investigations proceed, and hope also that Justice is served accordingly.

Peaceful protest is a core part of a democracy. And we must preserve this value through fishing out people responsible for the killing of peaceful protesters.
