Tems surpasses Wizkid as Nigerian artist with most songs on Billboard Hot 100
Female singer, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has surpassed Wizkid as the Nigerian artist with the most charting songs in Billboard Hot 100 history.
The effeminate singer broke a tie with Wizkid (4) after her song with Beyoncé titled ‘Move’ debuted at number 54 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It means Tems (5) is now the African artist with the most entries in the history of the chart.
‘Move’ was released off Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ album and also featured veteran Jamaican singer, Grace Jones.
Tems has previously appeared on the chart as a guest on Wizkid’s ‘Essence‘, Drake’s ‘Fountains’, Future’s ‘Wait For U’, and her song ‘Free Mind’.
She currently has three songs charting on the Billboard Hot 100; ‘Wait For U’, ‘Move’, and ‘Free Mind‘. She has now become the first African artist to have three songs charting simultaneously on Billboard Hot 100.
