Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen was on target as his club, SSC Napoli thrashed Hellas Verona FC 5-2 away in their first Serie A game of the season, on Monday.
Kevin Lasagna opened the scoring for the hosts in the 29th minute, at the Marc Antonio Bentegodi stadium, Verona city.
Georgian winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia responded with an equaliser for Napoli 8 minutes later, before Osimhen scored a brilliant goal just before the half-time whistle to put the Parthenopeans in the lead.
Thomas Henry brought Verona back into the game after equalising at the start of the second-half.
However, Napoli went guns blazing adding three more goals in the concluding half. Piotr Zieliński restored the blues’ lead in the 55th minute, before midfielder, Stanislav Lobotka, and Matteo Politano completed the rollercoaster to make it 5-2.
Napoli is currently on top of the Serie A with three points and a goals difference.
