Scheana Shay Swaps Polarizing Morganite Engagement Ring for Diamond Upgrade

Diamonds are girls’ best friends, so it is no wonder they like experimenting with them so that they look as sparkling as possible.

Scheana Shay, the famous American TV personality, did something similar. By switching out her divisive morganite engagement sparkler for a diamond, she has enhanced her engagement ring significantly.

After going down the aisle at her wedding to Brock Davies on August 23 in Cancun, Mexico, the Vanderpump Rules star received her new masterpiece, which made headlines as soon as it went public.

The new ring

Brock Davies—the handsome Australian—gave her a 4-carat emerald-cut solitaire engagement ring made by Ring Come True. The substantial rock is surrounded by a beautifully set and hidden halo of diamonds. Reportedly, Brock had forked over $25,000 over the ring.

The company tasked with making the ring congratulated the newlyweds and shared valuable information about how it made the glittering bauble with Brock. They went to Instagram, saying they were extremely enthusiastic knowing that Scheana and Brock had finally tied the knot in Mexico.

They further said that hoping that the couple would have a lifetime of joy together, they involved Brock in the process to ensure that Scheana was genuinely surprised. The 4ct Emerald cut version of the company’s CLIO ring seems to have taken a great deal of homework and thinking.

It is clear that Davies knew what he was doing when he approached the jeweler. Having already had a daughter with her, he wanted something that Shay could find delight in and a reflection of their love. The hard work has undoubtedly paid off because not only does the ring look good on her, but she also loves it. 

The ring swapped 

Brock proposed to Shay in July 2021 with a rare fancy pink morganite ring in his hand. It was a 12.74-carat rectangular cushion cut and was designed by Vanderpump fan favorite Kyle Chan.

The pink stone, which was mounted on a white gold band weighing 14 karats and set with 12 diamonds, drew criticism from followers, who were confident that Shay clearly deserved a diamond.

However, Shay, proving that she was not after the material used but the meanings it carried, shut down the criticism. In a Tweet in January this year, she stated, “It’s still 12.74 carats. Why does it matter what stone?”

Shay shares a beautiful 16-month-old daughter, Summer Moon, with Davies and knows that there are more important things to worry about. Further explaining why she did not find anything odd with the ring, she said, “I didn’t want a diamond. Morganites are beautiful and have so much meaning.”

She also expressed her gratitude to a social media user saying that since it was a ring from someone she loves, she should not worry about what people say about it.

The proposal

Although fans watched Brock Davies consult with Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, Lala Kent, and Randall Emmett while planning a variety of proposal scenarios, he decided to propose to his girlfriend at home in July.

The captivating moment may or may not have been documented by cameras, but Shay said that production and COVID quarantine measures interfered with their plans.

But just when their fans thought that the proposal would have been more exciting had it been recorded, Shay explained that she did not care the least bit about whether the beautiful moments took place in the presence of cameras. She just wanted to marry the daughter’s father, who is also the love of her life.

Talking about the proposal, she added, “He wanted to propose to me this season and we are approaching our last week we filmed. Time was limited.”

The couple intends to stage a wedding in Bali since that is where they first fell in love.
