Ron Cephas Jones (born January 8, 1957 in Paterson, New Jersey) is an American actor. He rose to fame in the 2016–2018 drama This Is Us, for which he received two Emmy nods. John F. Kennedy High School and Ramapo College are the places he went to after high school.

Additionally, Jones worked with the Steppenwolf Theater Company in Chicago, Illinois, where he was seen in a number of performances as Shakespeare’s Richard III’s main character with the Public Theater in New York City, New York. Jones has worked as a standby or understudy in a number of Broadway productions.

After his graduation in 1978, William This Is Us actor moved to Los Angeles, California. While in LA, he drove a bus from the Southern California Rapid Transit District for four years.
After leaving this job, he travelled to different places such as Arizona, San Francisco, and New Orleans before going back to New York City in 1985.
In New York City, he spent a majority of his time at the Nuyoprican Poets Cafe in Manhattan’s East Village. He became part of a play which was based on the Billie Holiday jam known as Don’t Explain. He was so excellent that he caught the attention of the director, who offered him a role.
In 1994, This Is Us William played the lead role in the Cheryl West play known as Holiday Heart. He also took part in numerous theatrical productions, mostly with a company known as Steppenwolf Theater Company based in Chicago, Illinois.
