President Muhammadu Buhari will host Nigerian track superstar, Tobi Amusan, and long jumper, Ese Brume in the coming days.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, disclosed this on Monday, 8th August, 2022.

Dare said that there would be a presidential reception for both athletes at the Villa, following their recent achievements for the country.

Amusan and Brume are part of the Nigerian contingent that finished 7th at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, in Birmingham, England, with a total of 35 medals; 12 Gold, 9 Silver and 14 Bronze.

Tobi Amusan won a Gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdle event, while Ese Brume won a Gold medal in the women’s long jump. Amusan was also part of the Nigerian quartet that won a Gold medal in the women’s 4x100m final and also set an African record.

Recall that both athletes won Nigeria’s two medals at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon last month; Gold in the 100m Hurdles, and Silver in the Long Jump.
