Leicester City defender, Ashleigh Plumptre says she is proud to have attended her first senior major tournament with the Super Falcons.
The former England junior International was among the Nigerian contingent to the just concluded Women’s African Cup of Nations in Morroco.
Despite the defending champions finishing fourth in the tournament, Plumptre said she was proud of their resilience and determination.
She said she was grateful for the lessons learnt, the experience gathered, and the opportunity to represent Nigeria.
Taking to her Twitter page on Wednesday, Plumptre wrote; “Proud to have batted alongside a resilient and determined group of women for 5 weeks at my first senior major tournament.
Thank you for the lessons learnt, experiences had and the opportunity to represent way more than just myself.
Morocco, thank you.”
The Super Falcons will participate in the 2023 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.
