‘Peru,’ by Ed Sheeran and Fireboy DML, sets a new record in the United States.

Adedamola Adefolahan, better known as Fireboy DML, the afrobeats singing sensation, has reached yet another career milestone.
The Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter Edward Christopher Sheeran MBE, best known as Ed Sheeran, remixed the YBNL Nation superstar’s chart-topping single “Peru.”

In the United States of America, the Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran’s song “Peru” has gained Gold certification. A song can earn gold certification in the United States if it sells over 500,000 copies.

On April 14th, 2022, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that “Peru” has officially sold over 500,000 units, making it eligible for gold certification.

This comes just a few days after the same song was certified platinum in the UK after selling over 600,000 copies (600,000). Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran deserve congratulations.
