Recently, Pedro Pascal discussed his transgender sister Lux in an interview, referring to her as “one of the most powerful people” he has ever known. Although Lux’s story has inspired many, she first told her family that she was non-binary before coming out as transgender.
The Last of Us actor has been one of the biggest supporters of his little sister Lux. He is also a vocal supporter of the transgender community.
One of the reasons the transgender cause is so close to Pedro Pascal‘s heart is because of his younger sister’s journey. Lux came out as transgender in 2021.
Meet Pedro Pascal’s youngest sister Lux
The Mandalorian star has three siblings. His eldest sibling is sister Javiera Balmaceda. He also has a younger brother named Nicolas Balmaceda. Lux is Pedro’s youngest sister.
For the unversed, Lux is a 30-year-old actress living in New York.
As per her IMDb, Lux has appeared in Narcos (2017), Juana Brava (2015), Prueba de Actitud (2016), The Prince (2019), Invisible Heroes (2019), and more. The star’s acting credits are both impressive and extensive.

Lux Pascal came out as non-binary before transitioning
Lux opened up about her transition for the first time in her 2021 feature in the Spanish language magazine, Ya.
She revealed that she began receiving hormone treatment in July 2020. The actress also shared that she came out as nonbinary to her family before revealing she was a trans woman.
The LGBT Foundation describes nonbinary as people who feel that “their gender cannot be defined within the margins of the gender binary.” It further describes that for the non-binary people “their gender in a way that goes beyond simply identifying as either a man or woman.”
Lux also revealed in her feature that she told her elder brother Pedro about her trans identity over face time and he asked her how she felt. “I remember he was a little worried” Lux shares before telling that Pedro then congratulated her for coming out.
He asked her how she felt and then quickly congratulated her.
Talking about her family’s response to her transition she said (per People’s translation from Spanish), “My transition has been something that’s very natural for everyone in my family,” she continued saying, “It’s almost something that they expected to happen.”
She also shared how her older brother Pedro played an important role in her journey sharing “He was one of the first people to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity.”
