The Weeknd sang “Habibti, I would kill for you” and fans are digging for its meaning in English.

The 32-year-old put up a highly entertaining show for over 45,000 fans in Detroit on Wednesday, July 27.

The sold-out concert is continuing to make the rounds on social media as fans are still smitten by his song.

He even concluded the night by saying, “Next time, we do Ford Field two nights, back to back,” and fans can’t wait for him to come back and set the stage on fire, just like he did last night.

What is the meaning of Habibti?

Habibti is an Arabic word that translates to “my love”. It can also mean, “my dearest”, “my love” or “my darling.”

It is the feminine form of the word Habibi, which is used to refer to a male lover.

Taking into consideration that The Weeknd has been private about his personal life lately, we couldn’t tell if he dedicated the song to someone dear to him. But, it sure struck the right chord with the listeners.
