It was both club and personal disaster for Senegal stars, Édouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly as Chelsea suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Leeds United on Saturday.
Mendy gifted the hosts the opening goal after Brenden Aaronson took advantage of his blunder to tuck home in the 33rd minute.
Rodrigo doubled the peacocks’ lead four minutes later after he was set up by James Harrison.
Chelsea dominated the game after the break but were denied goals by the strong Leeds defence.
James Harrison extended the whites’ lead in the 69th minute after Rodrigo returned his earlier favour with a brilliant assist.
Thomas Tuchel’s side continued to push for a consolation goal at Elland Road but the peacocks were solid. Chelsea’s hope suffered a major setback when Kalidou Koulibaly was red carded six minutes to stoppage time.
In the other Sunday’s EPL fixture, West Ham thrashed Brighton 2-0 thanks to goals from Mac Allister and Trossard.
