Emmy-winning actress Kirstie Alley passed away on December 5 – she was previously married to her ex-husband Parker Stevenson, with whom she had two children. Kirstie‘s kids, William True Stevenson and Lillie Parker, wrote a touching tribute to the actress, who was fighting cancer.
Kirstie Louise Alley got her first big break with NBC sitcom Cheers, where she played Rebecca Howe and won Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Awards in 1991.
Along with her immensely successful professional career, which was marked by a plethora of Emmy-nominated roles, Kirstie was a proud mom of two children who opened up about their iconic mother’s life following her tragic passing.

Kirstie Alley, with her former husband Parker Stevenson, adopted her first son, William True Stevenson, in 1992 after a miscarriage. She adopted Lillie in 1995.
While her marriage with Stevenson ended in 1997 after fourteen years of partnership, Kirstie revealed in her book how her kids had the most profound bond with her right from the beginning.
KIRSTIE ALLEY’S CHILDREN WROTE A HEART-WRENCHING TRIBUTE TO MOTHER
On December 5, Kirstie Alley’s kids, True and Lillie Parker, wrote on Instagram – “To all our friends, far and wide around the world… We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce, and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.
“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.
“Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren, and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.”
KIRSTIE’S KIDS DID NOT FOLLOW THEIR MOM’S CAREER PATH
Kirstie Alley’s son William True Stevenson chose an unconventional career path. The 29-year-old star-kid is a captain from Clearwater, Florida, and an outstanding fishing trip guide.
Kirstie’s adopted daughter, Lillie, is an entrepreneur with a vision to bring design and sustainability together and build highly crafted heirloom furniture.
While none of Kirstie’s children followed their mother’s career path, the late actress opened up about how the children had the most exhilarating impact on her in her book. She had revealed that with True, their bond became natural and profound right from the start of adoption.
