Kidnapped veteran actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel have been released by their abductors.

Confirming their release in a statement on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Monalisa Chinda Coker, said the Nollywood stars were released after their kidnappers were “touched by the spirit of God”.

Recall that the thespians were abducted in Enugu State on Saturday after a movie shoot. Their abductors had demanded $100,000 as a ransom for their release.

However, Coker maintained that the kidnappers freed them unharmed after receiving the touch of the “spirit of God”.

“This is to inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, have been released, unhurt. The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Rollas, announced their release by the abductors who were touched by the spirit of God to set them free and unharmed,” the statement read in part.

She explained that the guild has arranged for medical checks and psychological support for the victims.

The spokesperson thanked Nigerians for their support and prayers during the trying period.
