American political commentator, Kayleigh McEnany was born on April 18, 1988 in Tampa, Florida in the United States of America.

McEnany went to Tampa’s exclusive, catholic preparatory Academy of the Holy Names. Following graduation, she majored in international politics at St Edmund Hall in Oxford and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C.

Nick Thomas-Symonds, a future British Labour politician, taught her politics while she was an undergraduate at Oxford. McEnany worked as a producer for three years on the Mike Huckabee Show after receiving his degree from Georgetown.

McEnany spent one year as a student at the University of Miami School of Law before moving to Harvard Law School after finishing her first (1L) year there.

Throughout the interview, she lauded Trump and claimed credit for bringing the “real news” to the American people.

Since she was a college student, McEnany has maintained a close relationship with the Republican Party. In 2012, she sent multiple tweets questioning Barack Obama’s place of birth, echoing the “birther” conspiracy theory movement. She was critical of the Obama administration.

McEnany tweeted in 2012 about Kenya-based Malik Obama, Obama’s half-brother. She made the error of saying that Obama hurried off to a golf game after the 2002 execution of Daniel Pearl in her response in 2017 to criticism that it was hypocritical of Trump to attend his golf club while serving as president.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) named McEnany as its national spokeswoman on August 7, 2017.

When Trump made comments about a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, that suggested that white nationalists and anti-racist counterprotesters shared blame for violence, McEnany, then the RNC spokeswoman, supported Trump in the face of a bipartisan backlash.

McEnany started working for Fox News as an on-air contributor on March 2, 2021. In the future, she shared the role of co-host of Outnumbered with Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno.

She took over as Fox News Tonight’s interim host in May 2023 after Tucker Carlson was let go.
