Justin Gatlin: Biography & Early Life
Justin Gatlin was born on February 10, 1982, in Brooklyn to Willie and Jeanette Gatlin. He grew up in Pensacola, Florida and went to Woodham High School. In the school team, he was the fastest kid and would cross high hurdles helping the team win State Championship.
He was speckled by the coaches of the University of Tennessee who offered him a scholarship to run like a sprinter. In 2000, he joined the University of Tennessee for a 110-meter hurdle from where his professional journey took a leap. For the next few years, he finished his program and received training.
Gatlin is married to Denise and has a son Jace Alexander Gatlin who was born in May 2010. There isn’t any information about his personal life as he is private about his personal stuff.

Gatlin, as a result of his training, won consecutive six sprint titles at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In 2001, he was officially banned from athletics for two years after he was tested positive for a nervous system stimulant drug. The ban was reduced to one year after he appealed that the drug was his childhood medication to cure his “Attention Deficit Disorder.”
In the 2004 Olympics, Gatlin won the gold medal in 100 meters.
In 2006 as well he was banned the second time after testing positive for testosterone, but this time for four years (at first it was for eight years). Gatlin also had to face annulment of his May 2010 record of 9.77 seconds in 100 meters.
As soon as his eligibility was reinstated in 2010, he started to compete again. N 2012 London Olympics, he earned a bronze medal and created a record of 9.80 seconds at the US Olympic Trials, and became the fasted man to create a time record above the age of 30. When he was 35, he bagged the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships in London and defeated the world record champion, Usain Bolt.
