Jimmy Odukoya Steps Into His Father’s Shoes, Becomes Senior Pastor of His Church

In a remarkable progression of spiritual and stage legacy, gifted Nollywood actor Jimmy Odukoya has ascended to the position of Senior Pastor of his late father’s church. Odukoya, who has built a considerable reputation as a superb actor in Nollywood, Nigeria’s equivalent of Hollywood, now steps up to handle pastoral responsibilities, following the passing of his father, the esteemed Pastor Taiwo Odukoya. 

“There comes a time when the mantle of leadership passes on, and it becomes our responsibility to uphold that which has been entrusted to us.”

Widely known for his stirring performances and versatile roles in the Nigerian film industry, Jimmy brings much of his performance skills and charisma to the pulpit, weaving a unique balance that sets him apart. Deeply rooted in religious training by his revered late father, Jimmy, a theology graduate, marries the disciplines of faith and art to effectively connect and engage with his congregation.  

His father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, was a national icon—a man admired for his powerful teachings and remarkable dedication to faith and human kindness. He had piloted the Fountain of Life Church for years, leading it to exponential growth before his untimely demise. His loss was a significant blow to the church and the nation – a void that required strength, courage and divine wisdom to fill. 

Jimmy’s ascension to the helm of pastoral leadership signals a new dawn for the Fountain of Life Church and houses tremendous anticipation among the church community and the broader Nollywood industry alike. 

According to him, the board of trustees unanimously elected Jimmy as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board.

The actor will be installed as senior pastor on Saturday, September 30.
