Irv Gotti is opening up about his relationship with Ashanti and talking about the heartbreak he felt when he found out she was darting Nelly.

The rumors about Ashanti and Irv’s relationship had hit the media in the early 2000s but the pair never really confirmed the relationship.

Now, years after their relationship, he is finally opening up about his feelings.

A look back at Irv Gotti and Ashanti’s relationship

Irv and Ashanti had worked together for several years as she was signed to Murder Inc. Records, the company he owned. While the pair eventually went to have a fallout, things were not always like this.

When the duo worked together, people were convinced that a romance was brewing between them. In fact, there had been rumors that they might have been dating.

However, neither Irv nor Ashanti ever confirmed their romance. Years later, Irv is coming forward and talking more about their relationship.

Irv Gotti opens up about heartbreak

Irv opened up about his relationship with Ashanti while appearing on Drink Champs. In it, he confessed that he still had feelings for the singer while she was dating Nelly.

He said: “I could get past you wanting to be with Nelly. Listen, at the time, it happens, any man is hurt. The chick that you f**kin’ are in love with is with this n***a.”

During the interview, Irv also opened up about how he found out that Nelly and the singer were dating. He said: “You wanna hear how I found out? I was at home… Listen to this sh*t. This was God wanting me to find out. Was at home, NBA package, I like watching sports. My God, what’s this commotion going on in the stadium? We just found out what the commotion is: Nelly has walked in with Ashanti.”

While Irv has been vocal about his relationship with Ashanti, the Rain On Me singer has never commented on this.
