How old was Zac Efron in High School Musical as actor revisits East High?

Zac Efron revisit Salt Lake’s East High school years after the release of the High School Musical movie which was filmed there, but how old was he when the shooting took place?

On July 22, the actor took to his social media to share a picture he had taken while visiting the school and the post was quick to get everyone excited.

The world got to know about Zac when he appeared in the Disney Channel movie. With Zac beaming with happiness during his visit, we are hoping we would get more High School Musical content from him.

How old was Zac Efron in High School Musical?

Zac was only 18 years old when he took on the role of Troy Bolton in the High School Musical. Before appearing in the movie, Zac had done a couple of roles in shows while also appearing in advertisements.

However, his big break came when he became the lead role in the Disney Channel movie. Fans got to see him as the popular High School kid who was ready to remove the line between cool and not-so-popular kids.

The concept of the movie was quick to grab the attention of many while also paving way for other installments of it to come in.

Did Zac Efron really sing in the movie?

In the first part of the movie, Zac’s voice was not used. Instead, Drew Seeley, who is a Canadian singer, stepped in to fill the role. However, the actor had recorded all the songs for it.

It is unclear why the director chose to not have his voice. Nonetheless, fans did get to enjoy Zac’s voice in the next two parts of the film.

To add to this, in all the events where the cast of High School Musical came together, Zac was seen performing as well. To this date, fans love the songs from the movie and that includes Zac’s voice.

Could there be another movie?

While Disney has not made any announcements, Zac has been vocal about his thoughts on coming back for the movie. Ever since the third part of High School Musical was released, fans had been hoping to get more of it.

Unfortunately, another movie never happened. Despite this, Zac seems to be happy to return if there is something in the making. The actor confessed this in an interview with E! News.

With this in mind, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping we would get to see more of Troy Bolton.
