Comedian Paul Mooney, who is known for his roles in The Buddy Holly Story, and Chappelle’s Show, has died at the age of 79.
Paul’s rep Cassandra Williams confirmed that Paul died on Wednesday 19th May at 5:30 in the morning at his home in California.
Paul not only acted, but previously worked as a writer on shows such as The Richard Pryor Show, and In Living Color.

Paul Mooney has dies at the age of 79 his rep Cassandra Williams told The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor and comedian died on Wednesday 19th May at 5:30 a.m. at his home in Oakland, California.
The Paul Mooney official Twitter page also confirmed the news of his passing.
It stated: “Thank you all from the bottom of all of our hearts …you’re all are the best!…… Mooney World .. The Godfather of Comedy – ONE MOON MANY STARS! .. To all in love with this great man.. many thanks.”
Who are Paul Mooney’s children?
Paul Mooney shares four children with ex- wife Yvonne Mooney: Dwayne, Daryl, Spring and Shane Mooney. They also had.a fifth child, Symeon, who sadly died in 2001.
Dwayne and Daryl are both comedians, like their father.
Following the news of Paul’s death, his daughter Spring tweeted:
“Give me a moment !!! My best friend just died and my world is forever SHOOK !!! I really can’t put into words right now my feelings .. know that I LOVE THIS MAN AND I AM BROKEN.”
Paul Mooney was close with his children, and in a tweet from 2019, Paul said: “My best friends are my children… all four of them.”
